Computational | Experimental | Artefacts | Artistry

I am a full professor at the City University of Hong Kong. My research lies at the intersection of innovation and strategy in the public and social sectors. I use data science, computational social science, and experimental designs to make policies and societies better and happier. I’m also applying textual data to make reproducible inference. Ocassionally, I do conceptual work for breaking new ground. Theory is important but I am not theory-fetish. My new mission: go beyond journal publications. Turn research into real-world artefacts: tools, apps, and repositories.

I have published in reputable journals in public administration and policy, including Public Administration Review, Public Management Review, Public Administration, Policy Studies Journal , and also in management and organizations such as  Journal of Management Studies, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies.

I work with R/RStudio, Python, VSCode, LaTeX, Quarto, Markdown, GitHub, Netlify, and I’m always looking for new tools to make my research better.
